The World Is Not Ready For A Woman President

An Uncomfortable Read

We don’t like to listen to women.
Just the sound of a woman’s voice reminds us of our mother.
And no one likes to be told what they can and can’t do.
If a woman is angry, she’s hysterical.
If a woman is emotional, she’s weak.
If a woman raises her voice, she’s a bitch.
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

We’re not ready to be told no.
We’re not ready to be asked to share.
We’re not ready to be interigated.
We’re not ready to be accountable for our actions.
We’re not ready to hear our words matter.
We’re not ready to have hard, uncomfortable conversations.
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

We’d have to play nice with others.
We’d have to think of more than just ourselves.
We’d have to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.
We’d have to have empathy.
We’d have to look at the mess we’ve made.
We’d have to clean it up.
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

We’re accustomed to being lied to.
But a woman can smell a lie coming a thousand miles away.
She’d demand honesty, dignity, respect, and trust.
From herself and from her country.
We haven’t had leadership like that in years!
How would we even react?
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

Women are sticklers for education.
She’d make you do your homework and come prepared.
She’d instruct you to listen twice as much as you speak.
And when you’re wrong, she’d open a book and point out the facts.
We would all be better off for it.
But we’re not ready to open our minds and expand our knowledge.
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

Besides, a woman doesn’t know what fair is.
She’s always done the bulk and the brunt of the work.
She’s always worked for little to no pay.
She’s been told no and put in her place for hundreds of years.
Her skin is thick.
Her work ethic high.
No, the world is not ready for a woman president.

The world is not ready for a woman president and the proof is that Hillary failed.

Somewhere along the way we got in our heads that one woman failing is a representation that ALL women will fail. Funny no one ever thinks that about a man. While a woman would appreciate your support, she’s more than capable of handling it alone. After all, 83% of single parents are mothers — the most important and most difficult job on the planet. But no, the world is not ready for a woman president.

Maybe the world is not ready for a woman president for the simple fact we’re too preoccupied with wanting women to smile more.

Or maybe the world is not ready for a woman president because bitches get shit done. Washington isn’t used to that!

Dedicated to the strongest woman I ever met, my Gram. (1919–2020)
